How this is calculated
Your hourly rate is multiplied by your hours per week, then by 52 weeks, to get an annualised gross salary. From there, the same Income Tax, National Insurance, pension and student loan rules apply as on our full Salary Calculator — Personal Allowance of £12,570 for 2026/27, 20% basic rate to £50,270, 40% higher rate to £125,140, 45% above that, and National Insurance at 8% between £12,570 and £50,270, then 2% above.
